Japan’s Space Station module Kibo

Just some PhotoShop fun. Japan will be adding it’s “Kibo” module to the International Space Station next year.

Just add some tatami mats for that traditional home look…on the floor and the ceiling. There is no up or down in space…

I sent the photo to the Japanese equivalent of NASA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Here is their reply:

>Hello Ota-san, domo arigatou gozaimasu.

>Thank you for your nice work. We enjoyed it very much.

>I know some people don’t like the smell of tatami. However
>the Japanese crew, especially one who stays in ISS
>for long time, would love it and could get relaxed
>if they had such a nice tatami room.

>In Japan now we are enjoying ‘Hanabi’.
